If you get a chance, have a look at the recently published book Green Design by Dorian Lucas published by Braun (ISBN 978-3-03768-068-1). It's been thoughtfully put together and looks interesting with its bare spine and corrugated cover. It's full of "green design" and includes my Favela necklace and the plastic bag sea creature, Echino.
We have a big basket outside the front entrance on the deck for shoes and boots. They make a cosy home for small animals looking for shelter. A few days ago I was putting on my green shoes and thought I'd left my socks in them because I couldn't get my toes right in. I looked inside and found the cutest little green guy with a big smile on his face.
I gently got him out and sat looking at him for a while. Luckily he wasn't injured by my foot.
He's a baby tree frog, possibly Litoria caerulea, the common Green Tree Frog. You can hear his song here.
I love his big smile, round toes and little nostrils.
He now lives in amongst the bromeliads in the garden.
Perhaps I should have kissed him.
