When I first met my partner Tigger, 30+ years ago, he was making witty collages and zines from found images and text. It was fascinating to watch him cutting, tearing and pasting bits of paper and then moving them around to create interesting compositions. I was inspired to try myself and made an issue titled BLOB TEEP 808. The title came to me in a lucid dream. OMG.....how funny!!! I recently found the original pages in an old folder and the memories are flooding back.
It was the early 80's
a time of hideous fashion
and anti-nuclear demonstrations.
I was listening to Tears for Fears, Talking Heads, XTC etc.,etc.. There was a lot of arm-waving type dancing whilst listening to this music. Oh geez.
A dream I've had since I was a small girl is coming to fruition. The boxes are being packed and are on their way to my slice of paradise. The little red house will soon be my permanent home. Oh! I'm feeling good.......
